Sonic "Light Speed" dunks-fivE by meberra Sonic "Light Speed" dunks-fivE by meberra
I call these customs, Sonic "Light Speed" dunks, I did them as a tribute to Sonic and his 20th Anniversary this your. If not for Sonic my skill level as an artist today would not be. I decided to name the shoes Sonic "Light Speed" dunks as a reference to the shoes sonic actually wears. When he upgraded to the Green eyed sonic of today, so did his shoes labeled as the "light speed dash shoes". I have sonic & eggman featured on the shoes in there classic dramatic poses. On the heel of the right shoe there is a Cheat Code that was used in Sonic 1 as a level select (something for the gamer heads). I have added 2 RARE collector sonic emblem pins attached to the front laces. I chose to place stars on each side of the shoes to represent the banner that's on the emblem in every sonic logo. The all familiar checker board background was an upgrade from the classic sonic landscape to the new 3D landscape seen in Sonic 4. I've added Sonic and Eggman's personal logos next to them as well. I thought this would be alot cleaner than slapping a huge Name logo. Readers of the comic series will recognize them right off. I had to go with the Classic colors of Red, Blue, and Yellow on a Nike Dunk High. Thanks for the support and comments and feedback is welcome.

These are FANTASTIC! Honestly, I've seen a lot of shoes on Deviantart, but these are BY FAR the most detailed and vibrant! What kind of paint and shoes did you use? How is the paint holding up? I would imagine that any kind of paint would crack and fall off. :/ Did you set them with a glaze? And - last question, I swear - how on earth did you get the lines so straight and neat?? O_O

Seriously, these are amazing, and you should be very proud. :)

thanks im glad you like them so much!! okay well, I use a professional Leather bonding paint its made to flex and bend with the shoe. So there's no cracking, peeling, fading, ect. that you get when painting with regular acrylics. The type of shoe i used was a Nike dunk High varsity-red-black-white(317982 162). i do put a finisher on every pair i do which gave it that shinny look but honestly i was trying for a matte finish i just added to many coats. none of this hurts the shoes though. once there complete its like wearing a shoe you bought right out the sneaker stores. Now as far as my lines.... lol thats just all skill, patients, and a steady hand.

These are fantastic. There's a lot of effort showing through the quality of your work. How long did it take to create?

ima be having the vid on my youtube account soon. but after the background was laid. i drew an outline of the characters then painted it white. drew all the basic detail and painted each color starting with the base color, then shadows, then highlights.

Hey thanks for telling me, I did my shoes with just permanent markers, but now thinking of doing with Acrylic colors.
